Pink slip, also called eSafety Check, is an inspection report conducted by an authorised inspection station to prove that the vehicle has passed the roadworthy and safety requirements to be on the roads in NSW. A pink slip report is required for the registration of any vehicle that’s more than five years old.
If you’re renewing your vehicle’s registration or registering it for the first time, a pink slip report is required by the Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) in NSW.

Book Pink Slip Inspection
Pink slips are automatically sent to RMS. All you have to do is book an appointment with us and we’ll come out to meet you anywhere in Sydney and perform the pink slip inspection and issue the report.
In order to issue a pink slip report, we need to make sure that your vehicle is roadworthy and safe to be on the roads. Therefore, we check the below areas:
Suspension and exhaust conditions
Fluid leaks such as oil or radiator leaks
Seatbelt, anchor points, reactor, seatbelt lock, and check for any wearing or fraying.
Brake efficiency test
All lights, headlights, blinkers, interior lights, and dash lights
Windscreen crack
Tyres
Pink Slip Inspection Validity
Pink slips for light vehicles are valid for six months and it is a requirement to register your vehicle or renew your current registration within six months of having your pink slip report.
If you failed to complete or renew your vehicle’s registration during the six months, you will need a new inspection and a new pink slip report.
For vehicles registered outside NSW, you will need a blue slip which we also offer and it’s valid for only 42 days.
If your vehicle passed the pink slip inspection, the report will be automatically sent to the RMS. Next you are required to purchase a CTP Insurance (Green slip) which is a mandatory car insurance and will also be automatically sent to the RMS. The car registration process can be done online, by phone, by post or in person at your nearest NSW service centre.
Vehicle Failed the Pink Slip Inspection
If the vehicle is not roadworthy or safe to be driven on the roads, we will issue a white slip fail report and show you the necessary repairs needed to pass the inspection again. We can help you with any mechanical repairs and re-inspect your vehicle.
The new inspection should be done within 14 days of the first report in order not to have additional charges applied.
If you fail to fix the needed mechanical errors within 14 days, a new pink slip inspection will be required.
